ANNE BILINSKY (nee Chanas)

After her second courageous battle with cancer, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at her home on July 19, 2017 with family by her side.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, Jon (1955) and Eva (2001), her husband Steve (2003), her brothers Peter (2013) and Steve (2017), and her in-laws Grant Clements, Edward and Anne Ogrodnik.

Anne will be sadly missed by her children, Dennis (Valerie), Andy (Susan), Cindy and Tom; grandchildren, Ryan (Amber), Jennifer (Tavis), Nicole (Mike), Jason and Ashley; her precious great-grandchildren Tenley, Jordan, Lux, Jaina, Weston, Tristan and Zaila; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Chanas, Virginia Bilinsky, Mary Clements, Stephanie (Oscar) Lyseyko, and Ann D'ettorre; brothers-in-law, Alec (Josie) and Peter Bilinsky as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Anne was born in Poland on September 16, 1932. The family immigrated to Canada in 1938 settling in East Selkirk where Anne attended school and grew up on the family farm. Anne and Steve married in 1957 and raised their family in the Transcona area of Winnipeg. Anne loved her children, family gatherings, gardening, bingo and visiting the Chanas and Bilinsky farms. As the grandchildren grew, Anne traveled to numerous Manitoba communities avidly cheering at baseball and hockey games. Anne and Steve also enjoyed extended vacations with the parents of their daughters-in-law. In her later years, Anne enjoyed neighborhood walks and several casino bus trips with friends.

The family would like to thank the supportive staff from Concordia Hospital, Palliative and HomeCare Manitoba.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, Manitoba, with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow in the East Selkirk Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please continue Anne's fight by donating to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
