Welcome to the memorial page for

Cynthia Densley

Cynthia Anne Densley (nee Morrison)

February 15, 1949-July 27, 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend Cindy after her courageous battle with Cancer on July 27, 2017.

Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Elinore and Tommy Morrison as well as her wonderful sister, Paulette Maloney. Cindy leaves to mourn her husband Jim of 53 years; brother Hugh (Judy) and children Pamela (Corey) and Corey. She also leaves behind her most cherished of all, her grandchildren Connor, Adam, Easton, Hunter (Kris) and fur Buddies, Benny and Abby. As well as numerous nieces and nephews, Mom will also be missed by her special friend Artelle (Mom was the top half to Artelle’s Cinnamon bun).

Mom was born in Selkirk on February 15, 1949 where she lived most of her life. She was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at SMHC, had spent time Guarding for the RCMP and working for the Saan and Walmart Store in Selkirk and Winnipeg, always saving money for her grandchildren.

Cindy enjoyed camping and fishing, making ceramics with her Mom and dog grooming at home. During Mom’s hot run at bowling, it was unusual for her to come home without a trophy. Mom always put her family first and was ready to help out at the drop of a hat, even stepping up to co-coach her son’s hockey team so they could play. Her ‘Grandma Densley’ buns and sweet and sour meatballs were always a hit for our special occasions and Holiday dinners.

As per Cindy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be interred next to her mother during a private Family service at a later date.

Cindy’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital Medicine and Cancer Care wards for their kindness and making her as comfortable as possible during those difficult times. As well, a special Thank you to Erna and Don Iwanoczko for their kindness and generosity during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in Cindy’s name would be greatly appreciated.

“Swim with the Dolphins and Turtles now, Mom”
