Mary was born March 5, 1926 to Vera and Percy Lyons and raised in Trochu, AB. She graduated nursing in Calgary, AB and nursed throughout Alberta before her and her friend took a job in Gods Lake Narrows, MB. It was there she met the love of her life, Clarence. After a wedding in Red Deer, AB they settled in Riverton, MB and she continued nursing in Arborg, MB and often using her kitchen table to mend small injuries for the community.
She was a kind and gentle person, who enjoyed nursing right until retirement. She was the happiest spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family parties, enjoying watching how full of life they were.
Mary was active in the Riverton Hnausa Lutheran Church all her life, giving a helping hand to everyone.
The family wishes to thank the Arborg Personal Care Home staff for their kindness and caring of our mom.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Riverton Hnausa Lutheran Church, Riverton Cemetery or Hnausa Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held at the Riverton Hnausa Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 29 at 1:00 p.m.
Those we love don’t go away.
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near.
Loved and missed, you will always remain.
