Leo Sutyla

On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Leo Sutyla passed away at the age of 86.  He will be missed by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann, son, Roger (Charlotte) and her children, and many, many friends.

He was predeceased by his son Danny, parents Nellie and Frank, brother Steve, and sister Francis.

Leo was born and raised in Progress, Mb. in 1937.  He spent his final working years at Mack Truck as a Diesel Mechanic where he retired after 36 years in 2002.

He enjoyed nature and being outdoors, cutting many cords of firewood, hunting, quadding, snowmobiling, as well as playing hockey and golf.  A good time for Leo was sitting together listening to Polka Party, sharing stories over a ‘bump’ and enjoying an onion sandwich.

Gratitude goes out to the staff at Tyndall Building at Selkirk Mental Hospital for their care and compassion given to Leo.

In keeping with Leo’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held.  Leo’s ashes will be interred at Little Britain Church Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
