Although this is very late in coming, I wish to thank Wes, John and Erin for their compassionate, efficient response to our loved ones passing. I’m so impressed with their ability to help us make arrangements effectively and with attention to detail that we would not have been in the right mind to think about. As a family, we had to deal with other funeral homes recently and have not had the level of service that we have received from the staff at Gilbert’s.

I wish to thank the Wes Gilbart Funeral.Home for the amazing care and send-off provided to my late older brother Harry Harrison.

Harry died on 15 December 2022 and was laid to rest on 18 January 2023 at Gimli Community Cemetary . Harry was 67.

I wish to thank the Wes Gilbart Home for the compassionate, considerate, and loving manner in how you prepared Harry's Final Homecoming.

In particular can I single out John Funeral Director, who was a beacon of strength and comfort .

He called myself in the UK, Dr Abiola, who was Harry's close friend and was on the ground liaising with all the authorities on behalf of the family.

He called Teza Harry's son in California, and updated us constantly, with reassuring words. John even travelled to a town outside Gimli to purchase Harry's suit on behalf of the family.

John we are ever indebted to you for your warmth, love and care.....I found a third Angel in you

The first pair of Angels were Dr.Abiola and his wife Florence... They have been a brother to Harry and to the family through their unwavering love and support . They have been my anchor in stormy weather. Such Love.

Rob Funeral Director who prepared at our request a Roman Catholic Service.

Rob went the extra mile to phone me and ask for the Bible readings which I had told John the family had selected

These were three readings for Teza and Chibwe his mother...for the family.....and lastly for all of Harry's friends.

Rob said he could accommodate the reading, as we had decided to withhold them, due to the cold weather. We did not want to prolong the service at the cemetary.

The service was changed and the Service took place in the Chapel.

Rob made the three bible readings take centre stage and Teza delivered his Dad's Eulogy in the warmth of the Chapel.....

The Service in the Chapel and the cemetary was dignified warm intimate and so orderly....How can we possibly thank you .... Rob is my Fourth Angel.

Carla Harry's social worker was the second Angel. Carla
called us a day before Harry died so we could facetime him at Gimli Hospital in the dialysis Centre.

Teza, my son Khalil, and I ....we got to see Harry speak with him, told him we loved him and without knowing it... that was our goodbye.

Harry got to see usand speak with us .. and the last person he saw and spoke with was Teza, his son... Harry too said his goodbye as he died the following day .

God is merciful We thank God for mercies received.

Harry is at peace he got to say goodbye... Carla is my second Angel.

The fifth Angels are all the Doctors and Nurses at Gimli Hospital that cared for Harry.

To All of you at Wes Gilbart Funeral Home Harry's Homecoming was a beautiful event because you cared.

We thank you as Harry's Family and Friends....you took the burden off our shoulders and shone a bright light to dispel the darkness.

May God bless you all individually and severally, and May you long continue to flourish in service and prosperity in the community of Gimli and Selkirk.

May your Light shine brightly to guide our loved ones home.

I have met and spoken with God's Angels and am forever blessed.

So sorry to hear of Marie Collins passing .I worked with Marie for many years at the Woman’s centre she was an amazing nurse and I learned so much from her .We became good friends even her two sons Brad and Chris were my ring bearers at my wedding ….

Dear old cousin, I will always remember your love for figure skating. You were very good at it. I always remember your new skates. We took figure skating lessons at the same time. I always loved it to; but I wasn't as good at it as you were. I had a pair of hand me down skates that were all broken down at the ankles needless to say they didn't give me much support. You are now in a better place, enjoy your rest. Love Beth

It’s been 11yrs since my Mothers passing ...David met with me .. took care of all the arrangements. I was so moved by his kindness and compassion and so impressed with his professionalism for such a young man. He did a wonderful wonderful job ...exactly how my Mother wanted ... and she looked so beautiful and peaceful in her coffin ..they even managed to put a smile on her face . She looked alive and asleep . Every time I see David my heart fills with gratitude...I want to go up to him and wrap my arms around him and thank him but I don’t ... I’m sure he has no clue who I am .. but I will never forget him for what he did for my Mother . Thank you once again . Wendy Beaman ❤️

It has been several years since I have had to come to you but I am so happy that I now have an opportunity to express my appreciation for your assistance over the years.. Losing so many loved ones in a short span of time is incredibly difficult and living so far away made it even more so. I honestly don't know if I could have managed it all without the compassionate, knowledgeable assistance of your amazing staff. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you do!

Our family would like to thank D.H Gilbart for supporting St Boniface Hospital with a Private hospital room for the public on the 7th floor Rm 47. We lost our mother Olive Lillie and it was divine intervention the Gilbart family was there to comfort my mom in her final hours. You see my mom took care of the older generation Gilbart boys. And our family has always been taken care of by the Gilbarts. It is a true blessing to have a fine establishment like them in our community. Once again THANK YOU.
