He was predeceased by his parents Fei and Fridrikka and his loving wife of 56 years Catherine (nee Potoski).
He leaves to mourn his six children John (Charmaine), Sharon (Ken), Joanne (David), Terry (Sherry), Charles and Brian (Cheryl) along with his six grandchildren Daniel, Tyler (Krysten), Scott (Laura), Kyle, Kelsey (Matt) and Samantha and four great-grandchildren Kessi, Gemma, Amos and Leo. Dad also leaves to mourn his three siblings Sybil (Mike), John (Kathleen) and Fred (Lynne) as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Dad was born in Hnausa at his Amma's house on July 4th, 1930. He grew up in the Jaroslaw area and worked as a carpenter. Dad was known as a hard worker who was always willing to offer a helping hand. dad met mom and they married on December 15th, 1956. They bought a farm together in the Jaroslaw area where they raised their family. Dad had a love of farming, and he was happiest when he was on his tractor. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren for tractor rides and was always proud of their accomplishments.
Dad was well known for his quick wit and sense of humour, as his family and the staff of the Arborg PCH can attest to.
Due to declining health, mom and dad moved to Arborg and then later dad moved into the PCH.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home for their care of dad over the years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arborg Personal Care Home (Activities Department).
As per dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
