Bernadette Esther Matthews
The family is sad to announce the passing of Bernadette Matthews peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 59 years.
Bernadette was loved for her wonderful crazy sense of humour and infectious laugh and had many friends that she loved spending time with. Bernadette had a huge heart and always willing to give anyone a helping hand. Bernadette loved her children and grandchildren and always told them she loved them and cherished her role as a proud grandparent.
Bernadette was predeceased by her parents Ethel and Sidney Seymour, sister Florence Young, brother William Seymour, nephew Jason Young Sr and sister-in-law Candace Bennett.
Bernadette leaves behind her daughters Julia (Steven), Jamie (Adrian), and Myrna (Henry), stepson Jeff McKay,her nephews she helped raise George, Kevin and Dean. Her grandchildren Dmitri, Jacey, Ashton, Natalie, Dean, Andre and Abigail; her sisters Gloria and Beverly and brothers Sidney (Amber), Nathan (Vivian) and Curtis (Liz). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend Kathy Bjork.
Honorary pallbearers are Sidney Seymour, Nathan Seymour and Curtis Sinclair. Pallbearers are George Young, Logan Moneyas, Thomas Edwards, Kevin Young, Johnny Van Ma’iingan, Adrian Moneyas, Steven Ducharme and Henry Duck.
Her Wake will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Seymourville Hall. Funeral service will take place the following day, Friday, March 29, 2019 also in the hall at 11:00 a.m.
