William (Jumbo) Lyle Jonasson

After a lengthy illness at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, William (Jumbo) Lyle Jonasson passed away at the age of 72 years on Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Bill is mourned by the love of his life and wife Jean; daughter Tammie; son Trevor; sisters Joan, Shirley and Agnes; brother Jack; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

Bill is fondly remembered for his superior welding ability. You just have to drive around town to see many of Bill’s handiwork that was commissioned by the town of Selkirk. Bill had many wonderful memories. He was born in the town of Selkirk and never left it. He loved his time where he grew up on the farm. He spend a lot of time working in his shop working with wood and building many projects. One of his favourite past times was riding his scooter to A&W to meet his good buddies to discuss the troubles of the world over a coffee. Bill will be missed by many of his good friends and buddies.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk.
