Calvin Lea Obituary

Calvin Lea

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother Calvin on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his home in Pine Dock, Manitoba at the age of 46.

Calvin was born December 21, 1971 in Arborg, Manitoba.  He was predeceased by his father Richard, mother Mabel and sister Paulette.

Left to cherish his memory is brother’s Ron, Lorne (Anna), Gary, Franklin (Tina), Dennis, and sister Janice (Danny).  He also leaves to mourn numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Calvin was the youngest of 8 children and was definitely the spoiled baby of the family.  He attended elementary School in Pine Dock before moving to Winnipeg at the age of 14 to attend High School at Tec Voc.  During his time at Tec Voc he joined the High School football team were he was quickly recognized as a talented athlete, winning numerous awards.  Calvin had a great passion for sports!  He enjoyed talking about, playing and watching sports.  One of his favorite teams was the Toronto Maple Leafs, which he often got teased about.

After Graduating High School Calvin moved back home and followed in his Father’s footsteps as a Commercial Fisher.  He loved to spend time with his family and friends, his friends nicknamed him Too Cool Cal.  Calvin did a lot of research into the Family History online and would get so excited when he would find information he had to call or message everyone to let them know what he discovered.  We will miss his phone calls, sports updates, sarcasm and quick comebacks.  Forever in our hearts your memories will remain, love you Cal.

The Family wishes to thank the Riverton Ambulance Service, Interlake RCMP and to everyone who supported us during this difficult time.

A celebration of Calvin’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m, on Sunday, August 19th at the Pine Dock Hall in Pine Dock, Manitoba.
