Catherine Fountain Obituary

Catherine Fountain (nee Wilkinson)

May 2, 1970 - February 7, 2019

With great sorrow we announce the sudden and unexpected loss of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend Catherine Fountain, at HSC on February 7, 2019.

She is predeceased by parents Eric and Mary Wilkinson, step-father Robert Bahuaud, and mother-in-law Pauline. She will be greatly missed by her husband Michael; children Hannah (Brett), Ben (Danika), and Zackary; siblings Andy (Elaine), Ron (Bonnie), Gerry (Dean), Vern (Marisa), Colin, Collette (Wayne), Chris, Jackie (Kevin); father-in-law Jerry; sisters-in-law Shannon and Michelle; and nieces and nephews Kirk, Shawn, Nancy, Sherry, Kyle, Ryan, Devin, Meghan, Aiden, Erin and Sarah.

After completing a BA in English, Catherine raised three children with her husband in Lockport and pursued a diploma in nursing. She found her life’s calling as a registered nurse working in rural and northern communities. Cath was known for her sharp wit, sarcasm, horrible sense of direction, lengthy texts, and love of pets. In the summer, she could often be found spending time by the pool. She often said she felt most like herself when she had her makeup done, her hair curled, and her kickass boots on. Friends and patients alike will remember her for her vivid red hair which matched her lively personality.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St, Selkirk, Manitoba. Private interment will take place at a date in the future.
