Dale Chopek Obituary

Dale Adam Chopek

May 19th, 1972 – July 24th, 2018

Suddenly on July 24th 2018, Dale Adam Chopek of Selkirk, Manitoba passed on to a better place. He leaves to mourn the love of his life Karen (wife), Kara, Katie, and Kailey (daughters), and Dale Jr. (son).

Dale was a devoted father and would bend over backwards for his wife and children. Dale loved his mother Wilma Smith and could not go a day or night without talking on the phone with her.  She was always there for him.  Although they typically preferred to agree to disagree, he always loved her from near and far.  Robin, Dale’s sister, was always placed on a pedestal by him, as in his eyes she could do no wrong.  She was always there to listen patiently and give him her advice, which he valued and appreciated.  Dale always loved his father Walter and brother Wally.  He often shared his feelings with Karen and Robin, and he kept them close to his heart.  As for his nieces and nephew, he always wished that his babies would grow up to be just like them.  He was a very proud uncle.  Dale loved to clean.  If you wanted your home or vehicle or yard to look like new, he was ready for the job.  Dale did not have very many material things but one winter when he was walking down the street in Winnipeg he gave a homeless man his winter jacket because he knew he had a roof to go home to.  This is just one example of the kindness Dale always showed to others.  Dale enjoyed drawing and music.  This is how he would show his emotion at times to express his feelings.  Now it is time for a reflection of songs to remember him by.

Kenny Chesney – There Goes My Life

Blake Shelton – Lived it

Eminem – Beautiful

A quote Dale recently shared was, “There’s a battle of wolves inside of us all. One is evil. It is anger, greed, jealousy, resentment, inferior ego.  The other is good. It is joy, peace, love hope, humanity, kindness, empathy and truth.  The wolf that wins is the one that you feed.”

In lieu of flowers and gifts, a donation to the charity of your choice is appreciated.
