David Edward Georget

David Edward Georget passed away August 25, 2018. David was predeceased by his parents Jessica and Everett Georget, his sister Irene and her husband Carl Josefchuk. He is survived by his wife Blodwin; daughter Debbie (Ron), grandson Mitchell, granddaughter Madison; daughter Dayna (Dave), granddaughter Taylor and son Doug (Nessi).

Dave grew up in Selkirk and worked for various businesses. In his early twenties he decided to move to Ontario and worked in the Mines. During this time he had three children and spent many years as a single parent to his kids, so a move back to Selkirk allowed him to be with family. Upon his return to Selkirk he met Blodwin who he lovingly called “My Bobbi” and they married in 1988.

Upon his return to Selkirk he took a Carpentry Course at Red River Community College and proceeded to work in lumber sales retail at McDermid Lumber where he remained for some 20+ years.

After his retirement, Dave helped patients get to their doctor appointment either through Cancer Care or the Resource Centre. He was an avid armchair athlete, enjoyed gardening even though he wasn’t always successful. And most of all he was always supportive of Bobbi when needed and very proud of his children and grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 31 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, officiated by the Rev. Judy Whitmore
