Donald Cummings Obituary

Donald Cummings

Peacefully in his sleep, Dad closed his eyes, and joined the love of his life Doreen in their next journey.

Born in South Porcupine, Ontario, home was wherever his family was. Whether that was Selkirk, Timmins, Chalk River, on travel adventures, or stationed in CFB Ramstein or Shilo through his many years of Service in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Dad was funny, polite and always had sound advice when it was needed. He was a brilliant man who graduated at 15 and seemed to know how to fix whatever was broken. Dad’s great hobby was volunteering for the Selkirk Steelers and trying to never miss a game.

Don was a beloved father to Beamer (his faithful furbaby), Kim and Karen (Miguel) and cherished Gramps, Grumps and Grumpster to Shannyn (Chris), Michelle (Wayne), Danielle, Noah-Lee, Little Wayne (the Sprout) and Jaminatou (the Sprite); brother to Mildred (Doug) and brother- in- law to Anne, Raymond (Linda), Henry (Elaine), Wayne (Bonnie), Greg (Cathie), and Uncle Don to numerous nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Doreen, parents Stewart and Stella Cummings, in-laws Metro and Mary Gowryluk, as well as brothers in law Bill and Mark

A very special thanks to Dad’s homecare workers, who made it possible for us to fulfill Dad’s final wishes.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
