Dorothy Hayden Obituary

DOROTHY MAY HAYDEN (Nee LEPINE)

NOVEMBER 3, 1945 – APRIL 15, 2018

We are sad to announce Dorothy’s passing after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s and COPD. Dorothy passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Dorothy was born in St. Boniface, Winnipeg on November 3, 1945 and is predeceased by her mother Irene Moore (Lepine), foster parents Eileen (Micky) and Gerry Woodward, and son Daniel James Hayden. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Donald, son David, daughter Donna (Kip), daughter Deanna (Joey), sister Diane (Bob), foster sister Karen Wilfong, grandchildren Chantelle, Alexandria, Samuel, Rhiannon and, Cydonie along with great grandchildren Hayden and Rylee and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s passion was her family, pets and reading and not necessarily in that order. She was skilled in crochet, crosswords puzzles, playing cards and always had a ready shoulder to lean on and room in her heart for those in need. Dorothy had a special affinity for children and was ready with a calming touch when needed. She will be remembered and missed by her family.

Family would like to thank Betel home care staff, Dr. Jon Saper, friends and residents at Betel for their support, compassion and care during Dorothy’s stay.

As per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the local Alzheimer’s chapter or Humane Society.

Condolences, pictures and videos may be left on Dorothy's tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
