Garth Ernest Harvey
March 26, 1939 - January 20, 2020

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Garth Harvey, husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 55 years Catherine (nee Matthewson), his daughters Dawn (Allan) Hutchison and Nicole Harvey, and also grandson Shawn Hutchison. He also leaves to mourn his brother Lorne (Ann), and many nieces and nephews.
Garth fought a brave battle with Multiple Myeloma for 14 years. His goal when first diagnosed was to see his grandson Shawn graduate from high school of which he proudly was able to attend.
Garth was a wonderful husband and father with high moral standards and integrity. He taught his girls to always be kind and thoughtful of others. 
As a family, many weekends and summer holidays were spent at the cabin at Valhalla Beach. Garth enjoyed fishing and would go with his buddies Graham and Don in the boat they called the"Hunky Dory". He also had a love for anything from the World War II era. Garth and his wife loved to travel and especially to East Tennessee to see their grandson.
Garth worked for Thomas Rathwell Ltd for 36 years. He started in the record department and ended up being General Manager for M.C.T.R Distributors, which was a distributor for Panasonic and an affiliate of Thomas Rathwell Ltd. Garth loved his job and did it well.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Betel Nursing Home in Gimli. They provided him with great care and kindness in the last years of his life. 
 In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. On his behalf the family asks that you consider a donation to St. Amant Foundation, 440 Chemin River Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2M 3Z9.
