January 6, 1932 - January 13, 2020

On Monday, January 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. our amazing husband and father, Bert Olender, peacefully took his last breath on earth and left us for his eternal home in heaven.

Bert will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Olga; his children and grandchildren Debbie (Darryl); Bruce (Debbie), April (Jimmy) and Tiffany (David); Steven (Vera) and Mitchell; Susan and Amber (Paul, Taylor and Tiahna; Gail (John), Koltyn and Hanna; his stepchildren and step grandchildren Evelyn and Nolan (Maddie); Sherry (Terry); Don and Caleb, Ethan; Kim; his sister Pat (Albert) and family; sister-in-law Barbara Olender and family; sister-in-law Bernice Koral and family in California and Utah. He will also be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Bert was predeceased by his wife Joan (of 35 years) on April 2, 1990; his brother Robert (Bob) Olender (Feb. 28, 2015; his sister June Olender (May, 2018).

The family wishes to THANK all the friends and family who visited and reminisced with dad over the last 6 weeks...you made his DAY! Also to the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 16th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB, R1A 1M8, 204-482-3271.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Bert’s memory can be made to Gypsumville Community Club for Cemetery; Box 30, Gypsumville, MB, R0C 1J0.
