Germaine Feher (nee Smyth)
It is with deep sadness that, we announce the death of our beloved mother, Germain “Gerry” Feher, on January 6th, 2019 in Gimli, Manitoba at the age of 89.
Daughter of the late Thomas Smyth and Lucie Labrecque, she was the devoted wife of the late Michael Feher, loving mother of Frances (Tom Rath), Susan, Michael (Vanessa) and Richard, grandmother of Esther, Michelle, Andrea, Tim, Danielle, Michael jr. and Kenora and great-grandmother to Dylan and Carl.
She also leaves behind her sister Lucienne Campeau and her brother Andre, pre-deceased by her brother Thomas and sister Margot Courtois (Jean-Paul), sister-in-law Mary Feher-White (Peter), brother-in-law Lorne (Eila), pre-deceased by brother-in-law Peter Feher (Ann). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
“Gerry” spent the majority of her career working in the field of psychiatric social work where she was passionately involved in the initiation of multiple clinics in the Gatineau (Buckingham) Quebec area.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to her caregivers Larry and Marilee, who provided the best care for her possible, as well as Mae for her unrelenting friendship, and the Gimli Homecare team, (Kim, Lisa, Anna, and Jana), Matthew, Crystal and Brenda.
There will be no visitation as cremation has already taken place. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 10th at 3:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. A memorial service will be held at the Hungarian United Church, 50 Graham Blvd., Montreal, QC, at a later date
If so desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
