Helen Karasiuk (nee Pernak)

Peacefully, on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Helen Karasiuk, aged 75 years of Selkirk, passed away, after a short battle with cancer.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Roy;  sister, Mary; two children, Gary (Marion) and Alan; and two grandchildren Alexis and Zachary.
Helen was born in Selkirk, on February 27, 1938. She loved children and spent her career teaching Kindergarten and Grade One. She was retired for 20 years, enjoying her house on River Road in the summer, and a home near Phoenix in the winter.
Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 27th at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, Mb, R3E 0V9.
