Lorna Marguerite Morrisseau (nee Orvis)
September 1, 1926 - April 28, 2018
With sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother Lorna on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the age of 91 years.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children and their families; Yvonne (Ed), Ruby (Jason), Grace, Edward, Zane, Justin; Lorne (Diane), Melanie (Dan), Ethan, Joshua; Jon (Jen), Morgan, Finley; Charlene (Gordie), Daneal,Veda, Felix; Elaine (late Colin), Jocelyn (Ben) Emilio, Paolo; Annette (Cleo), Louise (Ben), Daniel; Jeff (Terri Lynne), Brielle, Joss. She also leaves her siblings and their families Helen, Doug, Glen, Velma, Donna and Moe to grieve their sister
Mom was predeceased by her husband Josh in 1973; daughter Marnie; granddaughter Maria-Clare; parents John and Catherine; brothers Harold, Charlie, John and Brian.
Our mom had many friends and was well respected and loved. Mom began her life's adventure as a school teacher, worked at M.T.S in Russell, MB; was a switchboard operator at Selkirk Mental Health Centre; and also worked as a Home Advisor with the Province of Manitoba retiring in 1993. First and dearest to her heart was being a full time mother and homemaker. Mom was a founding member of the Selkirk Friendship Centre and had the honour of being installed as an Elder of the Selkirk Metis Local in 1998. We would like to thank everyone who helped care for mom over the years to achieve a rewarding life of 91 years and 8 months.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Christ Church Anglican, 227 McLean Avenue, Selkirk, MB with Rev. Judy Whitmore officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the St. Clements Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
