My deepest sympathies to the Olson family and Rob's friends for their loss. I'm so glad Grant encouraged me to visit with Rob at his home in Gimli while on a trip back home to the "Peg" in 2009. I've many happy memories of Rob from our time as roommates in the '80's, like Rob tinkering on this canary yellow Camaro, chillin' with that black cat draped over his shoulders, and of course the music he made with Grant, Jim, Brian and Randy. Rob was a gentle, kind soul who will be missed by many.

Being Rob's cousin I grew up with him and he was like my brother. One thing about Rob was that he was a happy person. I don't think I have laughed harder than with Rob and Jim. We shared crazy sense of humor. I always remember Rob, Jim , Doug, Ross, Brian and I barfing in the Mcdnonald's parking lot. Hysterical laughter and vomiting ... what a combination ! Rob and I would always say how great it was that we were all friends first that became a band. It truly was the best times of our lives. When Rob and I were young we would go see bands at the Giimli Pavilion. Later we got to play there and it was a blast. Playing Clear Lake was also a awesome time. We would play bars and clubs and the take all the equipment to Rob's house and have a big party and play again. Everybody liked Rob because he was likeable.. Rob had a lot of friends that cared about him. Jackie, Wanda, Karen, Kim, Charlene, Margaret, Jim, Doug, Tim, Ross, Bruce, Bentley, Calvin, Cliffy., Tom, Ricky, Gil, Dale. Just to name a few . Rob you are gone but not forgotten. Death cannot erase all the great memories we have of you. Rock on Rob !

Rob was more like a brother to me than a cousin. His smile, his sense of humour, and his kind nature will always remain in my memory.

Very Sad to learn of Rob's passing, As a roommate of Rob along with Jim and Bently in the early 80's on Lenore st we sure had a lot of great unforgettable times late night jam sessions many talented musicians playing with the bands in some great parties.

Many of us joined the band at the local watering holes where they were playing. and usually a late night get together would occur after the last set. Minto st was a great location where the band also rehearsed and where Rob introduced us to all his friends and Family from Gimli. We were always welcomed In Gimli great times at Icelandic days long weekend and the big event when the band played at the Gimli Pavillion which I think was one of Rob's proudest moments. Rob loved music, cars, the families fishing legacy in Gimli MB. We will miss Rob thanks for the memories and condolences to the Family.
