Robert Phillip Wallis
April 27, 1938 – February 9, 2018
Peacefully, at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Robert Phillip Wallis, passed away at the age of 79 years.
He leaves his wife Valerie; daughter Fiona (Brad); sons Ian (Pat), Neil (April) and Alan (Marj); grandchildren AJ (Tyson), Danny, William and Chloe Lawson; Jessica and Kirbee Wallis; Calvin, Brian, Cassie and Kryzle Wallis. He also leaves to mourn sisters Margaret (Syd) and Marian and numerous nieces and nephews in England.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Gladys; brother John and sister-in-law Christine.
He was born in Audenshaw, England and Bob attended Oldham Hulme Grammer School and Stockport College. He married Valerie in 1960 and accepted a job offer to work in Canada in 1965. Living in Niagara Falls, Ontario before being transferred by the company to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1970. In 1973 he achieved his dream of buying a farm and establishing a dairy where he shipped milk for 32 years.
His happiest times were spent with his grandchildren and evenings spent playing cards with family.
He loved dogs and raised German Shepherds for many years. In later years he enjoyed a Bible Study Group at Notre Dame Church where he spent many hours with a great group of friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Demsas and the many specialists who took wonderful care of him over the past 10 years and to the nursing staff at Selkirk Regional Health Center for their compassionate care.
Mass will be held at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at noon with Fr. Stan Gacek officiating.
