Ronald (Ronnie) McBride Obituary

Ron McBride

March 30, 1954 – November 16, 2019

Ronnie passed away at Selkirk Regional Health Centre with his wife Dianne at his side. He was diagnosed with glioblastoma in September 2019 and left us peacefully and with dignity in spite of his battle with this aggressive cancer that invaded his brain.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife Dianne; brothers Randy (Patsy) and Russell (Joyce); sister Helen (Billy) Christiansen; daughter Lana and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ron and Dianne also had an infant son who died at birth in 1982.

Ronnie worked as a brick layer for many years and later for Manitoba Hydro in East Selkirk. He retired from the R.M. of St. Clements at age 60 where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was liked by all who knew him, made many friends and will be greatly missed.

Thanks to all who assisted with his care while he was at home. A special thanks to all of our neighbours who were there for us during this time, we couldn’t have done it without you.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (south of the rolling mills in Selkirk) with Rev. Cole Grambo officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Gilbart Reception Centre, 309 Eveline St.

Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
