William (Bill) Konyk

William (Bill) Konyk passed away suddenly October 19, 2019 at the age of 66. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anastasia (nee Samagalski). He is sadly missed by his brother Don (Carol) and his sisters Joanne (Nick) and Helen (Blaine). Also mourning his loss are his adored nieces and nephews Chris, Ria (Rob), John (Blair), Peter, Kaylee (Kent), Stephanie, Simon and great nieces and nephews Corbin, Lydia, Alena, Theo and Grace. To his nieces and nephews he will always be affectionately known as “The cookie monster”.

After a 38 year career at the Selkirk Steel Mill he retired. In retirement he enjoyed family get togethers, working in his yard or on the house and going fishing. He loved watching the animals and birds that frequented his property. But his great joy was getting on his Harley in the spring and taking to the open roads to explore with friends. Bill was a quiet, gentle soul with a big heart that will be missed by all he knew.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, in the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, East Selkirk, MB at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating.
