Alexander Clarence Kowerko
Sadly, on December 21, 2025 after a lengthy illness Clarence Kowerko, peacefully passed away at the Betel Home in Selkirk, Manitoba.
Clarence was born February 21, 1932 in Winnipeg to Steve and Kay Kowerko.
He leaves to mourn his children Bob, Kathy Groves, Blaine, Randy and Laurie (Maynard) Lawrence , as well as his grandchildren Ashley (Mike), Jeanne (Isaac), Josie, Garret (Jamie), Krystal (Rick), Janelle and Olivia. great-grandchildren Blake, Dominic, Natalie and Sophie and Gemma, step-great grandchildren, Romy, Danika, Lukas, Oaklynn and Nevaeh; brothers Tim, Steve and sister Doreen.
He was predeceased by his wife Jeanne, daughter Georgina, son in law Bill Groves, grandson Sean Groves, his parents, and sister Irene.
Clarence was a founding member of the St. Theresa’s Knights of Columbus, 4th degree and he took his volunteering very seriously.
Clarence and Jeanne were married 51 years and raised 5 children.
In his early years Clarence worked for Kowerko and Son, then Crystal Builders for the remainder of his construction career.
Once he retired, he kept busy tinkering in his garage and spending time at the Bird Lake cottage fishing and hunting with his family.
Prayers will be held on Sunday, January 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St. Selkirk, Manitoba.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, 3597 Main Street, West St Paul, Manitoba.
