Alice Anne Parkes

November 13, 1940 - June 4, 2026

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alice Anne Parkes. Mom was surrounded by her children and has left to join her beloved husband, Frank.

She leaves to mourn her children Michael (Theresa), Wayne (Doris), Lori, Keith (Cheryl), Frank (Sue), Derek and Dawn (Brad); the lights of her life, grandchildren Lisa, Michael, Lyanna, Owen, Ryan, Shayne, William and Franklin and her special great-grandchildren Alicia,  Alexis, Ava, Kennedy, Asha and Avni. Mom also leaves her sisters Edith and Lillian and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by parents George and Mary Taylor; siblings, Richard, Sarah, Dorothy, Georgina and Mary and foster parents Howard and Laura Smith; her in-laws Lawrence and Clementine Parkes and Gordon, Marie, Harry, Alfred, Helen and son-in-law Ron Spence.

 Alice lived most of her life in Selkirk, marrying Frank in 1958 and together they raised our family. Mom was a great cook and was very talented with a needle and thread with much of her handy work passed down through the family.

We would like to thank the staff at the Selkirk Regional Hospital for their care and understanding during this difficult time, their help to keep Mom comfortable was wonderful.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
