Anita Therrien passed away peacefully at Red River Place on July 16th, 2025. Anita was born November 24th, 1933 in Laurier, MB. She married Romeo Therrien in Laurier on December 6th, 1950.
Anita will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert (Judy) Therrien, daughter Elaine Therrien (Ira Minor), son Guy (Kim) Therrien, daughter Mariane (Mark) Riding, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Romeo and daughter Janine Therrien.
Anita was the oldest of 7 children and will be sadly missed by her surviving brother Harvey Gamache, sister Dolly Cole, sisters-in-law Irene Gamache, Denyse Kuindersma, Lorette Therrien, brother-in-law Lawrence (Leone) Therrien, as well and many nieces and nephews.
Anita and Romeo made the St. Andrews and Selkirk area their home. Golfing was their passion and a summer pastime. Anita and Romeo were members at the Selkirk and later the Mars Sandhills Golf Clubs where they made many friends.
Anita was devoted to raising her family and providing childcare for others in the community. She was an avid card and board game player and spent many hours patiently teaching her children and grandchildren to play cribbage and other games.
Anita was a devout member of the Notre Dame parish and embraced her faith throughout her life. She was a member of the CWL for many years. Anita was a very kind and gentle woman who was always willing to listen and help others. Gatherings with friends and family were some of her favorite times. Most recently, Anita enjoyed her weekly cribbage games at the Knight’s Center and social activities at Red River Place.

According to her wishes, Anita has been cremated. A mass will be held at the Notre Dame Church on July 29th at 1:00 pm in Selkirk, Manitoba. The service will be live streamed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/live/56z_ubFkXTY Interment will take place at a later date.
