Obituary

Anne Diane Mamchur

Anne’s children Michelle, Christine, David (Holly) and granddaughters Sara, Natalie, Jordyn, Meagan and Lindsay are saddened to announce Anne’s passing on December 21st.

Our dearest mother was born April 3, 1935 to Michael and Mary Chura, and raised in the East Selkirk community.

Our mother graduated from grade 11 and furthered her education at Success College. She was very proud of her education which led to her employment at Lucerne Milk as an accounting clerk and supervisor.

Our mom was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. She was well known for her abundance of preserves and tending to a very large vegetable garden. Mom‘s love for flowers and caring for a garden was always obvious, looking at her beautiful flower garden year after year with Dahlias being her favourite flower.

Anne always enjoyed watching the annual curling competitions, and once she moved to Selkirk, there was time to become active in the community.

She was an active member with the Selkirk Community Choir, the Horticultural Society and enjoyed the whist drives and cribbage games where she was a frequent winner. When it came to reading novels, she enjoyed a great read, and at a great speed, always keeping note of the books she read and when she finished them.

Our Mother and Father (Michael), Married in 1954. Together they ran a mixed farm in East Selkirk. Now, after 22 years, they are together again.

In lieu of flowers, Donations in Anne’s memory can be made to Tyndall  Orthodox Church or St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Gonor and be sent to Christine Kuz #412 – 300 Centre St., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3Y2A1.  Donation receipts will be provided.
