Barbara Annette Sawa (Nee Arnason)

April 11, 1960- January 15, 2023

Survived by her husband Gord and her handsome boy Zak, her mother Josephine (Ken Sylvester), sister Beverly (Terry), brothers, Greg (Sheryl) Murray, and her beloved nephews and nieces; Nicky (Kelsey, Jackson, Jamie) Tasha (Cyrus), Kaden, Tiana and Tavyn. Aunty Lorraine and aunty Jean, cousins Rosemarie, Kenny, Pat, Chris, and spouses. Her beloved uncle Fred and auntie Gabby and dear auntie Anna. Dear friends, along with many Arnason cousins. Predeceased by her father Gordon Arnason, uncle Walter, uncle John, grandparents Mike, and Emilia, babja Rosie Kozera and amma and afie Arnason.

She spent many years of her life travelling the beautiful resort in Mesa, Arizona with her mother and Ken. Gord joined the family a few years later and was always welcome for a new adventure. They shared many wonderful years together enjoying Arizona.

A heart of gold stopped beating, loved forever.

Barb was a very proud wife to Gord and amma of 12 beautiful grandchildren. A mother to Rhonda (Joey); Nikki (Chad); Daena; Brad (Sigrid) and Dusty (Stephanie) in her short 19 years as a Sawa. Barb was the glue of the family always planning get togethers. You didn’t have to be blood to be a family member to Barb. There are so many close family and friends to mention, and we don’t want to leave anyone out, but please know that Barb cherished every moment that was spent with you.

As we all know how important family was to Barb, we will always admire the love that Barb and Gord shared. You made your Barbie happy Gord. To the future gatherings and deck visits, there are no words to describe Barb’s unconditional love we hope to carry on in her Honor.

A celebration of life will be held on August 12, 2023, from 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Gimli pavilion as a Come and Go.
