Blaine Langlois Obituary

Blaine Edward Langlois

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, son, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and dear friend, Blaine Edward Langlois.

Blaine was born September 17, 1969, in Selkirk, MB and began his journey to the spirit world on January 18, 2022 at 1:02 a.m. with family at his side.

Blaine leaves to mourn his passing his loving daughter Serenity Smith (Patrick) and his mother Mary Lynn Lavallee; siblings Albert Viner (Sherry), Jasmine Lavallee (Janette) and Matthew Young; his nephews Brook Viner and Logan Claeys; and great-nephew Payton. Blaine will also be sadly missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who were important to his life story.

Blaine was predeceased by his father William Steven Langlois;  paternal grandparents William and Jessie (Dennett) Langlois; his maternal grandparents Charlie Lavallee and Sarah (Arthurson) Webb; step-grandfather Wallace Webb.

Blaine spent a majority of his life living in Selkirk. Even though Selkirk is a small city, he was always hard to find, as he really did not stay in one place too long. He was a very humble, soft spoken man and he did not like to burden others with being in the way. What Blaine didn’t realize was that he was never a burden and was never in the way of anyone!
Blaine enjoyed conversing with good people and little did he know… he was “the good people.” He could hold a conversation for hours no matter the topic. Most people do not realize you can go through the Book of Revelations in the Bible and relate it to modern day concerns now. It was something Blaine noticed. He could talk about the blue collar workers to the no collars. He could discuss politics to just plain old wood ticks; from bikes to cars; movies to music. No matter the topic, a smoke in one hand and a coffee in the other, he would gladly sit and hold a chat with you.

He looked up to his uncles on both the Langlois and the Lavallee side and the many cousins he grew up with and lost along the way. More than anything else, Blaine loved his daughter Serenity endlessly.

The family would like to thank the staff at Selkirk Regional Health Center for the special care, comfort and kindness in Blaine's last days. A special thank you to his aunt Sandra and his dear cousin Melvin for caring whole heartedly for Blaine in his final months of illness.

In keeping with his wishes a viewing will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. with proof of vaccination required to attend.

Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.
