Blanche Hjorleifson Obituary

Blanche Edna Hjorleifson (nee Curran)

April 28, 1931 – November 7, 2020

Blanche passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Gimli, MB at the age of 89.

She is predeceased by her husband and soul mate Einar Hjorleifson; her son David Hjorleifson; father William Curran; mother Priscilla Curran; birth mother Mary Wilson and brother John Wilson.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Dan of Vancouver, Palmi of Gimi and Mark (Joyce) of Gimli; son-in-law Gary of Vancouver; 3 grandchildren; sisters Grace and Marjorie, and special niece Brenda (Rick).

Blanche was born and raised in Selkirk, MB. In 1950 she married Einar Hjorleifson. They followed their dreams to the west coast in the mid 50’s, leading an adventurous life while raising 4 sons. Mom and dad were happy to have mom’s parents live with them until the time of her parent’s passing in Vancouver. Mom worked through the years in the health and service industry. Mom and dad spent time in the Cache Creek, Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Lake Manitoba and Riverton.

Mom was very happy to reconnect with her biological mother and siblings in the late 80’s.

Mom enjoyed the majority of her retirement years in Vancouver, B.C. living close by her son David.

Flowers gratefully declined. Mom will be privately laid to rest alongside her husband Einar in Riverton Cemetery.

Rest in Peace mom.
