Blanche Swirski

Blanche passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in Steinbach, MB at the age of 101. Although she will be missed immensely, we take comfort in knowing that she lived a very long, healthy and happy life. Mom (Blanche) was the last surviving member of her family.

Blanche was born on May 15, 1917 in Malonton, MB to Wasyl (William) and Rosalia (Rose) Spulnick where she lived until she left to work for a few years in Winnipeg and Matlock.

On October 17, 1937 she married Joseph Swirski and spent 72 years of married life together. In 1938 they started their own mixed farming operation at Matlock, MB where they lived until retiring to the Rotary Towers in Gimli, MB in 1997. In 2017 she made her final move to the Rest Haven Home in Steinbach, MB.

Throughout her life, Mom (Blanche) was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who poured her heart and soul into her family. She always gave freely of her time to her family, church and community.

Blanche was predeceased by her husband Joe (2010); daughter Angie (2007); infant son Joseph (1938); parents Wasyl (William) and Rosalia (Rose) Spulnick; brothers John, Walter, Stanley, Charlie and Louis; sisters Mary Radomski and Josephine Rogoski.
