It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Ronald Bennett, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 78.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, Verna Bennett and Ronald V. Bennett.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Maurina Bennett, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, adventure, and companionship. Together they made their homes in Calgary, Winnipeg and Petersfield enjoying camping trips, raising beloved pets, and creating an extended family filled with love and laughter.

Brian was a devoted father to Darryn, Lisa, Tina, and Joe, and a proud grandfather to Katlyn and her spouse Jeffrey, Larissa, Myles, Christian, Braedon, Savannah, and Marissa. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Emily, Avery, and Brody. Brian is also survived by his first wife of 14 years, Geraldine. 

Brian’s loyal companion, Sam, his dog of 10 years, remained a constant source of joy and friendship. “Awooowoowoooo!”

Brian had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was fishing, camping, or simply sitting around the fire with everyone, he was happiest outside. He was also a passionate fan of the Winnipeg Jets and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Many family members and friends will fondly remember sitting beside him, watching the game, sharing stories, and cheering on his favorite teams. Don’t get me started on “Yahtzee or crib” 31 for 2 Dad!

Above all else, Brian loved his family. His kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured forever.
