Carrie Joyce Prychun (nee Wozney)

1929-2025

Peacefully, on November 2, 2025 with her children by her side, Carrie passed away at the age of 96.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Brian (Lorraine), Bev, Wayne (Al); grandchildren Brian (Marwan), Kristin (Garry), Michael (Maxine), and Darren (Tara); great-grandchild Sierra; brother Edward (Judy), sisters Helen and Adeline; sister-in-law Nadia, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Archie; parents Mary and John; sisters Jennie, Frances, Florence and Rosemay; son-in-law Ed Hykawy.

Carrie lived a wonderful and full life. Her family meant the world to her. Archie and Carrie loved their trips to Hawaii. After Archie's passing she continued to travel extensively, especially enjoying numerous cruises. Carrie was a fantastic cook. She was very proud of her Ukrainian Heritage. She was a member of the Tyndall Ukrainian Orthodox Church for 77 years. At one time she sang in the choir, cooked along with the other parish ladies and served delicious Ukrainian food for their annual feast day.

We extend heartfelt thanks to the front line care givers at Red River PCH. We appreciate all the care and compassion given to her.

Funeral service will be held in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Evan Maximiuk officiating. Interment at Tyndall Cemetery.
