Peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the Tudor house in Selkirk Cecilia passed away at the age of 100.

She will be sadly missed by her son Gordon, daughter Florence, son-in-law Bernie, grandchildren Jeff and Mel Kisiloski, Jill and Lee McDonald and cherished great- grandchildren Hayley and Jenna Kisiloski and Kadyn and Ryder McDonald. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Cecilia was predeceased by parents Frank and Julia Ostrowski, son Edward, husband Walter Kazina, second husband Gerry Verreault and siblings Albert, John, Jessie, Carrie and Frances.

Cecilia was born on September 1, 1924, in Sapton, Manitoba. She attended Mayfield School and worked in various jobs in the service industry of which her favorite was a bar maid at the Selkirk Legion.

Her passion for travel took her to many places with Gerry and her friends. Her greatest joys in retirement were playing cards, gardening and simply spending time with her family.

We will remember our mother for her flair for fashion, her punctuality, her energetic, youthful and carefree spirit, her strength and optimism when faced with life’s challenges.

Thank you to her caregivers and friends for their constant support and companionship during her final years.

A memorial service will be held March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Society.
