Claire Steliga (nee Zebiere)
June 26, 1946 - April 09, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Claire Ernestine Steliga announces her passing on Wednesday, April 09, 2025 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
Claire will be missed by her son Brent (Tina), daughter Tara (Peter), 6 grandchildren Alyssa (Daniel), Mercedes (Ernest), Amber (Denis), Faith (Andrew), Taylor (Adam), Wesley (Hailey) & 4 great grandchildren.
Claire was predeceased by her husband Bill (October 2024), her parents (Marcel & May (1997)), her sister Anita in 2018, and her brother Richard in 2023.
She is survived by brothers Dennis Zebiere (Nancy), Armand Zebiere (Shirley), sister Annette and many nieces and nephews.
Claire was born in Brandon and was raised in Hamiota & Montmartre until her family moved to Winnipeg in 1955. She met & married Bill in 1966. They lived in Winnipeg & St. Andrews before settling in East Selkirk in 1981. Claire enjoyed her work outside the home. She worked at the Strains Camera store and MacLeods before becoming a nurse & working at Seven Oaks Hospital. She loved becoming a grandma & a great grandma.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The interment will take place on
Friday, June 6, 2025 at 10:00 am at Green Acres Cemetery. A come & go tea will be held afterward at 21 Spruce Avenue in Tyndall, MB.
