With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Corinne Rosalia Helga Ostertag (Coco) on July 24, 2020 at the age of 58.

Corinne will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Charlie and Connie Ostertag; sisters and brothers Cheryl (Greg), Stefan (Rhonda), Cindy (Greg), Warren (Cindy) and Ryan (Marsha); nieces Kelsi, Reena, Katie and Ivy; nephews Reese, Graeme, Brett, Skylar, Kyle, Casey and Alex; husband, Brent Halwachs; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Hannah Halwachs. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Joanne, and her special friend, Shauna.

Corinne grew up in Riverton, Manitoba. She attended Red River College to pursue her passion of caring for children and graduated as an Early Childhood Educator. She began working at River Avenue Day Care in 1983 where she dedicated 37 years of her life to the care of children. Corinne was instrumental in establishing the new facility for River Avenue Co-operative Day Nursery. She was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her dedicated service to her peers, community and Canada.

Corinne lived life to the fullest. Spending time with family was extremely important to her. She had a special and unique bond with her parents, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews. She was the keeper of so many cherished memories through her love of taking photographs. She had a green thumb and always had the most beautiful yard. She loved to cook and could throw anything into a pot and make an amazing meal. Everyone knew her favourite colour was purple. She loved music, camping, gardening, nature and too many things to name. Her generosity with her time, love and compassion was limitless.

There will be a private family service at the Riverton Cemetery on August 2, 2020.
