Darrell Sinclair
1958 - 2023
Darrell "Big D" Sinclair of Scanterbury passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
Darrell was born on February 7, 1958 in Beausejour, Manitoba, and went on to lead a meaningful and impactful life. Darrell was known for his selfless, hardworking and stoic nature, but he also had an amusing, lighthearted and comical side that would easily put a smile on anyone's face with his quick wit and contagious laugh. He was incredibly competitive and passionate about activities in which he loved playing like hockey, fastball and pool. Darrell was recently inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame with the Sioux Valley Dakota’s fastball team in which he was very honoured and proud of. He especially loved and cherished his time spent playing with the EK Stones that had created lifelong friendships and memories of which he was very fond. He was also quite passionate about falling asleep on the couch with the dogs while "watching" the Blue Jays. He has always been a bright light in the lives of many, always finding a way to change someone's day for the better with a quick conversation or cheeky comment.
Darrell is survived by his son Daniel; daughter Ashley; grandchildren Dallas, Carson, Arianna, Chayce and Blake; nieces Candace, Yalonde (Steve), Stacey (David), Carol, Sherrie, and Angie; and nephews Lawrence Jr (Constance) and Doug Sinclair. Darrell was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria; stepfather, Steve Gursky; brother, Douglas; sisters, Violet, Linda, and Florence; nephew, Dwayne Sinclair; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Cook Sr.
Family and friends are invited to attend wake services in honour of Darrell at the Private Tom Chief Memorial Hall in Scanterbury, Manitoba on Thursday, May 11th from 4:00 p.m. to Friday, May 12th at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
