David Michael Thompson

Peacefully, Dave Thompson of Dunnottar, Manitoba, age 76 passed away on November 21, 2018 after a courageous battle against Alzheimers.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Evelyn, children Kim, Susan (Gerald), David, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Gerry Geall (Anne), Jack Geall (Emily), nieces and nephews.

Dave was predeceased by his parents George and Mary Thompson, in-laws Jack and Daisy Geall,  son-in-law, Chuck Schau and his constant companion Cali, his dog.

Dave had a very successful career as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) and retired as IT Manager from Air Canada.

He was passionate about historical photography and proudly displayed his work.  He was a fluent writer of poems and stories.  Dave had such a compassionate heart towards others and always enjoyed his time with family and his wonderful friends.  He always was willing to listen or lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Tyndall Building in Selkirk for all their special care they provided to Dave and our family.

A Celebration of Dave's life will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at All Saints Anglican Church, 1 Railway Street, Whytewold, Manitoba at 1:00 p.m. and a luncheon to follow at Winnipeg Beach Royal Canadian Legion, 20 Hamilton Avenue, Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
