Diane Walker Obituary

Diane (Diana) Lynn Walker

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of a beautiful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and soon to be great grandmother, Diane Walker on May 23rd 2023.

She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Alida Baczewich, sister Marion Streich, and her father-in-law George Walker.

Born in Selkirk, October 10th 1956, she is survived by her husband Chris Walker, daughter Rhonda Walker (Mark), sons Dustin and Daniel Walker, grandchildren Braeden (Samantha), Kaliegh, Nolan, Emily, Sadie and soon to be great grandson, as well her sister Rita Johnston (Dan), brother Don Baczewich and mother-in-law Helen Walker.

Anyone who met Diane would say how loving and caring she was. She would make anybody feel welcome and like family when they would come over. Her laugh and smile were unmatched and always lit up any room she walked into. She truly loved everyone she met.

One thing she loved almost as much as her family was the Winnipeg Jets. Spending game nights watching them with Chris, giving a high five (5 times), anytime the Jets scored a goal.

Before the Selkirk Church (Springs/New Life) closed down, everyone would say how much of a blessing she was. Anyone who came there, newcomer or regular she always welcomed them with open arms and a loving smile. Even though she is gone from this world, we know she’s been well received by her Saviour, watching over us and reuniting with past loved ones.

My love I miss you so much but I know that one day we will be together again I love you

-Chris

I will always remember the way my mom made everything special, from her homemade birthday cakes, to her Christmas advent calendars. My mom was an awesome grandma who always made family get togethers fun with her games and activities she had planned . She was my best friend and was always there when I needed. We will miss her so much

 - Rhonda

We will hug and dance again someday, love you forever

 - Dustin

Mom always made me feel so special, even over the smallest accomplishments she would tell me how proud she was. That’s one thing I’m going to miss most. She was such an inspiration to me. What I would give to have you chat me up as I’m in my car ready to leave, even though we already said bye a few times. I love you so much, I’ll never forget you.

- Daniel

She touched a lot of lives in her short time on this Earth, we all love you so much, we will see each other again one day.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in July, date is yet to be set.
