DONNA MARIE FLETCHER

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Marie Fletcher at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre on Monday, December 30, 2019 with her family by her side after a fourth battle with cancer at the age of 77 years.

Donna is survived by her life partner Rod Cook, son Shawn Fletcher (Andrea), daughter Misty Fletcher (Chris); grandchildren, Scott, Ashton, Lexi, Kalyssa, Preston, Maya, Logan and Kirsten as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.

Donna was born on March 31, 1942 in Hartney, MB. to father William Eston Stroud and mother Elizabeth Beryl Stroud. She is predeceased by both her parents, her brother Garry, son Sheldon and first husband Gerald.

Donna had a huge heart and great love for her family, friends and all animals. She was always taking in strays and even neighborhood pets made fast friends with her and would visit her regularly.

When Donna’s children were younger you would always find her at the rink cheering them on at hockey and ringette. She was a very doting grandma and always seemed to have one or more grandkids hanging around the house.

Donna loved the outdoors, her and her partner Rod would sit on the deck for hours with neighbours Dianne, Paul, son Josh Little and Lisa Sopher that later became family.

Donna was a HUGE fan of the Winnipeg Jets and the Blue Bombers. She never missed a game on T.V. She was also predeceased by her lifelong best friend Bernice Patrick whom she shared her love of sports with.

Family would like to thank Dr. Ian Alexander and the staff at the Selkirk Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, MB.
