Edna Margaret Oleksiuk (Kurbis)

January 5, 1942 – July 7, 2026

It is with deep sadness that the family of Edna Margaret Oleksiuk (Kurbis) announces her peaceful passing at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre on July 7, 2026, with her whole family lovingly at her side.

Edna will be missed deeply but never forgotten. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was at the centre of her life. She was deeply proud of each of them and all of their accomplishments, and her encouragement, kindness, and steady love will remain with them always.

Edna is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mike Oleksiuk, her husband of 63 years; her children, Bonny Weber, Darren Oleksiuk and his wife Gisele, and Michael Oleksiuk and his wife Lisa; her cherished grandchildren, Kiara and her husband Jon, Tanner, Jaden, and Tyler; and her treasured great-grandchild, Calla. Edna loved her grandchildren dearly and was so proud of the people they became. The family is grateful that they were all able to be at her side in her final moments.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and care aides who cared for Edna and made sure she was comfortable at all times. Their compassion and support meant so much to Edna and to her family.

Edna’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of family, love, pride, and devotion that will never be forgotten.

In accordance with Edna's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service, however a private immediate family gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna’s Memory to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Selkirk Manitoba.
