Edward (Ted) Meade Obituary

On Thursday, May 31, 2018, Ted passed away at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home.

Ted was predeceased by his parents Allan and Elizabeth; wife Florence; brothers John, Adam, Henry, Helgi, and Frank and sisters Martha and Margaret.

Ted was born in Manigotagan and grew up in a large family on the shores of the Manigotagan River. He moved to Selkirk where he spent his working life at the Selkirk Rolling Mills. After Ted retired and his wife Florence passed away, Ted and his son Sheldon spent the summers in their camper at his brothers Elmer’s place in Manigotagan fishing and boating on the beautiful Manigotagan River.

If you were a Meade from Manigotagan, you were a musician and singer. Ted was no exception. He wrote songs and played guitar for many years.

He will be deeply missed by the entire Meade family and especially by his son Sheldon and his brothers Charlie, Arthur, and Elmer.

Ted spent his final years at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home. A very special thank you to the staff for their love and care.

A memorial service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, on Friday, June 8, at 11:00 a.m.

Donations in Ted’s name can be made to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home.

Condolences, pictures and videos may be left on Ted’s tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
