Evelyn Elinor Goodbrandson

Evelyn Elinor Goodbrandson, 94, of Selkirk, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, surrounded by family at Tudor House Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Kristjan; her sister, Leona; and her parents, Laura and Stanley. Evelyn is survived by her children Laurie (Audrey), Susan, and Allan (Tracy); her seven grandchildren, Cady, Lucas, Aric, Kristopher, Laura, Amanda, and Taylor; and her great-grandchild, Leo.

Born in Selkirk on February 17, 1931, Evelyn worked as a telephone operator before joining the Beaver newspaper and Central Gas Company, all while helping her late husband with Goodbrandson’s Transfer. Evelyn loved gardening, sewing, baking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed watching their sporting events and baking with them. She stayed involved with the community at the Selkirk Evangelical Church, was a member of the Legion and enjoyed her friends at the Over 60 Club later in life, and was an avid Jets and Bombers fan.

Evelyn will be remembered for her kindness, her love of Timmies coffee with an old-fashioned donut, never leaving the house without her lipstick on and her hair permed, and her fondness for a good chat and a dog cuddle. Her warm smile and friendly spirit will be remembered by everyone who knew her. Not a day went by when Evelyn didn’t speak about how much her children and family meant to her.

The family would like to thank Home Care and Tudor House for their care and support in looking after Evelyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. As per Evelyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
