Faron Wallace Starr

On Monday, September 15, 2025 at  the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Faron Starr (AKA Groggy and Garfield), aged 70 years, passed away.

He is survived by his children Glenda Gray-Starr, Faron Starr Jr (Lynn) and Charles (Haley); 12 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren; his sister Gail; brother Kelly; and the previous love in his life Marlene and her children and grandchildren (Squishy) and many cuzzins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Walter; siblings Carol, Raymond, Susan and Larry; son Eugene; grandson Bryson.

Faron worked as a fisherman for Fresh Water Fisheries and he also commercial fished in northern communities. He loved the company of others and was very humble with a great sense of humour. He also loved his many pets, his cats and dogs. Faron really enjoyed CCR music as well.

A special thank you to the Brokenhead Home and Community Care Staff for all the kindness and support as well as to the Selkirk Regional Health Centre doctors, nurses and staff for all the care.

Wake will be held on Friday, September 19 at 3:30 p.m. at his residence in Scanterbury, Lot 9 Bear Rd. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the Private Tom Chief Memorial Hall. The pallbearers will be Ray, Tim, Steve, Matt, John , “Babes”, Neil, "Porky", Kelly, Jodi and Kevin.
