Florence Sinclair Obituary

Florence Sinclair (“Aunty Flo”)

Florence Sinclair, lovingly known as “Aunty Flo,” passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, just two days shy of her 102nd birthday, surrounded by her family.

Florence was a woman of warmth, kindness, and simple joys. She found happiness in the heart of her home, especially while baking countless loaves of bread and lemon meringue pies—filling the kitchen with comforting aromas that brought family together. Whether for a special occasion or an ordinary day, her baking was always made with love.

She cherished her walks with her niece Julia, taking time to enjoy the world around her and the quiet moments life offer. Above all, Florence’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved them deeply and took pride in every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She was especially known for her hugs and kisses, sharing her affection freely with everyone she loved.

Florence will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her caring nature, and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly and carry her memory in their hearts.

Florence spent many years lovingly caring for St. Luke’s Church Balsam Bay cleaning in preparation for Sunday services and decorating beautifully for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her quiet dedication and service were a true reflection of her generous heart.

She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Daniel; her daughter, Louella; her son, Daniel (Danny); and her great-grandson, Cole. She was also predeceased by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

She leaves behind her children, Dale (Lene) and Mark (Dulcie), and daughter-in-law, Mim Budworth. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Warren, Tracy, Danilee, Darrell, Dallas, Lisa, Dustin, Kyle, and Jenna; and her great-grandchildren: Haylee, Noah, Brad, Tawny, Dasia, Daelynn, Stella, Poppy, Dayton, Owen, and Ella.

She also leaves behind her special friend, Corinne Sayer, and her nephews Glen, Larry, and Davy, who grew up like her extended sons.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, Manitoba.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Warren Sinclair, Darrell Sinclair, Dallas Sinclair, Dustin Sinclair, Kyle Sinclair, and Bryce Brickwood.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Pine Falls Hospital for their sincere support over the past seven weeks. Their compassion and care were truly remarkable. We are especially grateful for the use of the facility to eat and rest while we remained by her side around the clock during her final two weeks. Special thanks to Alvin, Andrew, Hannah, Eileen, and all others who supported Mom with such kindness.

We also extend a special thank you to the Giigewigamig Traditional Healing Centre for providing a place for rest and personal care during this time. Special thanks to Kathy Fontaine and Bill Abraham for their support and daily visits—it was truly appreciated.
