With deep sadness we announce the passing of Florence White at the age of 88 years.

Called “PeeWee” her entire life she was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan on May 15th, 1930 to the late Margaret and Walter Dolinsky.  Predeceased by husband Howard, sisters Marie, Dorothy, Gladys and grandchild Denise.  Survived by four children, Pat (Barb), Gail (Dan), Brian (Cecylia), Faye (Andrew),and 27 grandchildren.

Married in 1947 to Bruce McCracken they had 4 children. Florence spent the latter part of her life with her best friend and soul mate Howard living in Lockport enjoying cribbage, bowling, bingo, and trying her darnedest to master a vegetable garden.  Mom didn’t have a green thumb but sure tried.  The many years of   camping, bowling, and “going for a ride” ended when Howard passed in 2006.    Known for her cheesecake, butter tarts and matrimonial cake we all enjoyed her baking for many years. Florence stayed in their Lockport home until 2013 when she moved back to Winnipeg, living 2 years at Windsor Park Place until her final move to Bethania Personal Care Home.  As dementia slowly stole her memories we shared many happy hours helping her to her final destination.  Her quick wit and sense of humor were the last to leave and she is fondly remembered by many at Bethania for adding some laughter to their lives.     

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Clements Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shaun Zbrog, Joseph Kluk, Mason Kluk, Paul Fotiuk John Davidson, Jim Decker.   The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bethania Personal Care Home for their care and compassion.
