Obituary

Francisca Olorire Sogeke

With heavy hearts, yet with gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Francisca Olorire Sogeke, who went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on 8th of November, 2025.

Born on 7th of February, 1973 in Nigeria to late Mr. Joachim Ajala and Mrs. Philomena Malomo Ajala, Francisca was the fourth of eight children raised in a warm, close-knit family. Her upbringing nurtured the kindness, humility, and generosity that became hallmarks of her life.

After completing her primary and secondary education, she went on to study Economics at Edo State University Nigeria, where she excelled academically and formed lasting friendships.

In 2001, Francisca moved to the United Kingdom, beginning a new season marked by growth, resilience, and professional accomplishment. She built a successful career at IBM, and later moved to Range Rover Birmingham. She got married in 2005 and in 2014, she relocated to Canada with her husband. She worked with Sysco before joining Service Canada where she served faithfully until her passing. Known for her diligence, integrity, and gentle presence, Francisca brought excellence and compassion to every role she held.

Francisca gave her life to Christ in her twenties—a decision that shaped every aspect of her journey. Her walk with God was steady, sincere, and joy-filled. She lived out her faith with quiet strength, unwavering devotion, and a heart ready to uplift others. She served as a Deacon at the Redeem Christian Church in Birmingham for some years and at the time of her passing, she was an active and cherished member of “The Meeting Place” church in Winnipeg, where she volunteered joyfully and was deeply loved by her church family. Her radiant smile, servant’s heart, and consistent encouragement reflected the love of Christ to everyone she encountered.

She is deeply mourned by her beloved mother, Mrs. Philomena Malomo Ajala, and her siblings: Louretta Alegbe, Angela Onuoha, Christian Ajala, Alex Ajala, Edgar Ajala, Daniel Ajala, and David Ajala. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles, extended family, friends, colleagues, church family and all whose lives were touched by her gracious spirit.

Francisca’s life was a true testament to love, faith, resilience, and sacrificial service. Though she is no longer with us in body, the light she carried continues to shine brightly in the countless lives she inspired. Her legacy of kindness and steadfast faith will remain forever in our hearts.
