Frank Andrew Bannish
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Andrew Bannish, who left us on September 20, 2025.
Frank was born on May 25, 1932, in Cloverdale, Manitoba.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Verna Bannish, his devoted wife of 69 years; his children Sherry (Mark), Lois (Doug), and Harold (Anne); and his cherished grandchildren Karli (Mike), Corey (Mikaela), Chanel and Tristan (Kaitlyn). He was preceded in death by his father, Peter; mother, Annie; sisters, Nellie and Sophie; and brothers, James, Edward, and Andrew.
Together with Verna, they raised their children in Selkirk, creating countless memories of family travels and adventures. Holidays and birthdays were faithfully celebrated, and Frank, always behind the camera, lovingly captured moments that will be treasured for generations.
Frank worked most of his life as a steelworker at the Manitoba Rolling Mill.
In 1974, Frank purchased the original family homestead, where he farmed, grew gardens and tinkered.
Frank nurtured a lifelong passion for garage and auction sales. He and Verna made many dear friends from these adventures.
Frank will be remembered for his steadfast love of family, his remarkable talents, creativity, intellect, humor, curiosity and craftsmanship. These memories will live on in all who knew him.
The family would sincerely like to thank all the health care workers who cared for dad over the past two years.
The immediate family will gather for Frank’s interment. Family and friends are invited to join us for a light lunch in celebration of his life on October 10, at 12:00 p.m., at St. Clements Anglican Church Hall.
In lieu of flowers a monetary donation can be made to the St. Clement's Anglican Church or to a charity of your choice.
