Obituary

Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of Frank Reich. On April 14, 2025, Frank passed away at 69 years old in Tyndall, Manitoba.

Frank was the first son in a family of 11 children that ‘settled’ on a property in Tyndall, Manitoba. He always marched to the beat of his own drum, he travelled and lived in various locations from Manitoba to British Columbia throughout his life. He could sit down with any stranger, clink glasses, and find something to wag his chin about, leaving you feeling his friendship. His #1 pride was being a father and he gushed stories about his kids to anyone that would listen, especially when it came to his daughter’s art. He was also a relentless lover of music. He was a dedicated fan of classic rock radio. He listened to more hours of live radio than - well - possibly anyone in the world. Frank loved to canoe, fish, and carving. He was an early-bird, and he always came with the worms. The prospect of an opportunity to show someone one of his “secret spots” always had him grinning from ear to ear.

In recent years, Frank wasn’t able to do as much of his favourite activities. His battle with COPD took a lot of those things away from him, but never music, and never the ability to start a friendly chat with just about anyone that was walking down the street. He made so many friends, his family is at a loss on how to possibly let them all know. If you knew Frank and showed him some love, thank you for being a part of his story.

Frank is predeceased by his father; Adam Reich, his mother; Verna Reich, his brother; Wayne Reich, his best friend “Zig”, and his friend “Beck”. He is survived by his step-son Scott, his daughter Brandy Rose, his former wife Sue, his siblings; Linda, Irene, Charmaine, Dwight, Alvin, Roger, Doreen, Annie, and Penny, their beloved significant others, and by his countless nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

We all wish, so much, that we would have had a bit more time with him - but he always warned us that he was here for a good time, not a long time.  His smile, voice, and laugh were unforgettable. We love you Frank. You are so dearly missed.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at Gilbart’s Funeral Home in Selkirk, MB on Saturday, May 24th at 1:00 p.m. The celebration will be livestreamed via the following link https://youtube.com/live/ETd3uCkBTIA
