Franklin August Thidrickson
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Franklin Thidrickson on June 25, 2020 at the Gimli Community Health Center, at the age of 90 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Ida in 2017, and his son Blair in 2016. Surviving him are his son’s, Murray, Gregory (Deb), Craig (Elaine), daughter-in-law Lydia and sister Elizabeth Kamer. Also mourning his loss are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Franklin was a founding member of the Netley Community Hall and served on the board for many years. If something needed to be fixed, you would find him there taking care of it. So it was fitting that he won the R.M. of St. Andrews award for volunteer of the year.
He grain farmed while raising four sons with Ida. He enjoyed trapping and hunting, but his favorite pastime was fishing. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at South Beach Casino.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Gimli Community Health Center for his care.
Cremation has taken place and no service will be held because of the current pandemic. The family hopes to hold a luncheon in the future.
Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
